The idea was born insearch for real winters
Since I was a child, I have enjoyed winter weather – snow and cold. The search for real winter brought me to Lapland for the first time 27 years ago – and it turned out to be a week of wonders: snowmobile riding, ice fishing, sauna visits, Northern Lights, and much more.
I fell in love with this pristine region, and the idea of spending more time here and setting up something of my own was born.
When I told my wife Andrea about the idea, she had one condition. Our place has to be near of water since it is her favourite element. We looked carefully for a perfect location until our Finnish architect Mikko found the most beautiful spot at Rahajärvi lake in Inari, Lapland. Jari, our brilliant builder, brought our dream to life perfectly, and Bruno, our photographer, captured the cottage and its surroundings in the best possible light.
Why NASTE VILLAS ? "Naste" means in Sami language "star" and stars have an important meaning in their culture. That is why we have included a star in our logo. Sami are the indigenious people of Lapland.
Living your dream in the last wilderness of Europe – we bring you literally to the pure nature
Our principal idea is to offer our guests modern living in the wilderness combined with unique ambience and cosiness. We connect you with the wonderful natural surroundings by using floor-to-ceiling windows. This creates a feeling that you are standing in the middle of the forest. Our motto is“Design meets nature”.

Don’t look at your watch for a while – the concept of time is different here
We often think that we should be able to stop the time, but it’s not possible in real life. This is exactly why we recommend Naste Villas. Just relax and listen to the birds or let your gaze wander over the nature and sceneries of Rahajärvi lake. Read a book on the veranda and notice quietly how reindeer pass by ignoring you. In the winter, take a meditative walk in the snow-covered forests and return to the warmth of the fireplace.
When the night falls and you are lucky, you may see the northern lights dance in the sky. Having experienced several winters here, we like to say: The sky is the limit!
